Ana Drăghici is a Bucharest-based director of photography who works internationally. With more than 15 years of experience, she launched her career as a camera operator on Cristi Puiu’s critically acclaimed film, Aurora.
Ana made a remarkable debut as a director of photography with Two Lottery Tickets, a box office success that let to the creation of its sequel, Lottery Tickets Too. In her second film, the arthouse romantic comedy The Story of a Summer Lover, Ana utilised the depth and range of 35mm film to beautifully capture the nostalgic essence of Bucharest in the summertime. Her outstanding work has earned her two nominations for Best Cinematography at the Gopo Awards. She is a proud member of the European Film Academy, ICF*C (The International Community of Female⁺ Cinematographers) and of RSC (Romanian Society of Cinematographers) affiliated member of IMAGO.
Passionate about collaborating with emerging directors, Ana is dedicated to helping them bring their unique stories to life. Her cinematographic style influenced by the Romanian New Wave and contemporary arthouse cinema, seamlessly blends realism with touches of magic and fantasy.
